Use decent motors, a fast enough computer, and a fast enough control
mechanism. I run EMC on a P-III 600. I have various steppes from
Eastern Air Devices, Vexta and Superior Electric. In general, use
lots of voltage as described elsewehere. It depends upon the
combinations of things in the mix, and determining how they interact
is in the messages archives here, the same place I got it.
There are many combinations of motors, power supplies, computers and
controllers that will work very well just so long as they all work
together.
Note that the math below was wrong but I corrected it in a subsequent
post.
