Jon,
The machine is a Sherline 5400, 20TPI lead screws direct drive. The current
reliable top speed is 13.4 IPM. The motors are 80oz/in Pacific Scientific
motors, rated at .52 amps and IIRC 5.47 volts per phase. I suppose I should
be happy with 12 IPM since I only have a maximum of 9 inches to move for X
and even less for Y and Z. I do have a fully functional CNC system with
this machine and I am making nice parts so I really don't have anything to
complain about.
