Last year at the NAMES show, I demonstrated my step rate generators
on a Sherline, probably with the same motors, and a MicroKinetics driver.
I was getting 25 IPM out of it, and I remember people saying that they had
never been able to get more than 13 IPM or so with that driver. So, smooth
step pulse trains also are important for getting the maximum performance
out of the driver/motor combination.
