Yes, this problem Matthew is having really goes counter to everything
I think I know about EMC. The fact his mouse is running very sluggishly
tells me he has the PERIOD parameter set a bit too low, and maybe that
has something to do with it. If he has the PERIOD parameter in there
while running steppermod, that might explain it. Maybe he is alive
ONLY due to the 650 MHz CPU, as that combination seems to kill
most systems.
