Well, Thanks to all you good people out there I am now one proud
owner of a USEABLE CNC wood router. Welcome to the world of home
shop CNCing.
The // cable was definately at fault and after putting another end on
the thing everything went as smooth as silk and all wires measured
0.7ohms. I cut my first piece of signage tonight and didn't loose
one step so I am one proud little machinist with a smile on my face
you couldn't smack off with a piece of 2x4. This just makes
everything worthwhile.
It just goes to show that you must check, check and check every-
damned-thing before even attempting to run anything. This was the
3rd // cable I had put on the thing and everything 'seemed' to run ok
with the last one (in the beginning) but then the problems crept in
and were very subtle at first then manifested themselves to a greater
extent over time so that the whole machine became unuseable.
Thank you all very much for pointing me in the right direction and
I am humbly indebted to you all. What a great site we have and even
greater people willing to share their wealth of knowledge with anyone
who asks. I hope to onday return the favour.
