Oh, yes, one more thing. What is the max_acceleration and default_acceleration
parameter set to in the xxx.ini file you are using? Too fast an acceleration will
cause any stepper motor to lose sync. This is expressed in units of inch/sec/sec
(or mm/sec/sec). 20 In/sec^2 is a lot of acceleration. Try about 2.0 to 3.0
for a much more reasonable value. Later, once you've found the limits of
speed under load, you can then increase this acceleration until it causes
problems, then back off a little.
