You can start a terminal using that little icon that looks like a tv set
down on the bottom panel. Click it once and a window pop's up. Type it

cd /usr/local/emc

to move to that directory. If you are not already root, type in

su

and answer the password prompt with root's password. Then type in the
name of the run file that you want to use preceeded by a dot and a slash.
On my mill it is

./bridge.run

yours might be emc.run or some such.
