Jared, I'm using this power supply with the Camtronics 2A driver board kit
and Sherline's Size 23 stepper motors. It works fine. I have a 5-6000
mfd cap on the output (unit is at home and I'm not, or I'd give you an
exact number.)
Where I work we use stepper motors with chopper drives in various products
(admittedly mostly Size 17 motors) and don't have a linear supply in any
of them. I asked our head EE about the linear vs switching power supply
thing a while back, and he said that the motor will not know the
difference.
Best regards,
Randy
