Hi Alex,
I was also dubious about #25 chain but after one of the old lists
described in some detail an old industrial gantry router (with
excellent reputation) constructed with #25 chain drives but I havent been able to find it again.
This old commercial machine had #25 chains and that combined with an apparently adequate tensile strength of the chain and my collection of #25 sprockets was enough for me to try it. Like any new built machine there may be teething problems so I may have to upgrade somewhere down the track. Plus its a woodworker with much lower forces needed than a steelworker.
