For those modifying their equipment for CNC, I have
the following book that might be of interest to list
members.
I'm sure many of you have heard of this book and if I
can get 50 orders for this book the price will be $55
plus postage. Postage and insurance within the US
will be $6.00. My purchase price is also $55 and the
publisher will pay shipping to me. Two books would
make the postage charges $8.00.
Having sold books by mailorder for over 20 years I
would insure the book for $50 because no matter what
you insure an item for, you must prove to the USPS
what the actual value is if the item is lost. I could
prove the cost is $55, so if a book somehow gets lost
the amount collected and due to the buyer, would be
$50, they would be out $5 plus the postage. If a
person wanted to insure for $100, it would cost an
extra dollar, still collecting $55 if the book is
lost. In all my years of selling books only 2 or 3
books have been lost, and I'm suspicious of those.
The book listed in the subject of this message has
been listed in at least the last few issues of Home
Shop Machinist for $92.95 plus postage.
There are over 500 pages.

individual basis, but insurance is generally not
available on books shipped by the cheapest method.
