When I read the original question it reminded me of the discrepancy between the Data Sheet or Installation Instructions and the silk screen printing.
The fact that other people have questioned the same thing, I think vindicates my argument, that something needs to be changed.
However Mariss mentions there may be a hardware change that makes the issue irrelevant for new models.
Originally when I got the G201 I spent 10 minutes figuring out what COMMON meant. At the time the little
circuit diagram of the two diodes and the text in the documentation explained the Dir and Step were Opto Isolator coupled inputs.
The connection seemed right for the COMMON to be Common +5VDC and this was backed up by the data/installation sheet. So one may say what's the problem then....
Simple the PDF could have explained everything this thread tried to and would have made it somewhat clearer.
I'm not sure naming it !Common is correct either :-)
When Mariss then requested input/suggestions from users, I added this issue to the list.
I have full confidence Mariss will fix it ... :-)
