Assuming your encoder is mounted on the motor as recommended by Gecko.
G320/340 drives read the encoder at 4X and each encoder count is one
"step". So if you have a 250 line encoder you will have 1000 "steps" per
motor revolution. So with a G320 you need 1000 steps from the software
to get one revolution. But, with a G340 you have a pulse multiplier. If
you set it at 1X it is the same as a G320 and every step in moves the
motor one encoder count. If you set it at 10X every step from the
software moves the motor 10 encoder counts so with the 250 line encoder
it would only take 100 software steps to give you one motor revolution.
Hope that helps?
