Hi Robin,
First check you output pin set up in mach2 and make sure it matches the
documentation that came with the breakout board.
If all that pans out try checking the axis hotkey set up to make sure they
are not defined wrong.
If they are set up properly try going to the MDI screen and entering a G0 X+
and a small move and then do the same with a g0 X- and see if the DIR led on
the board changes.
