Hi Lee,
The I/O addresses are in a protected space, so they cannot be directly
accessed. I believe a driver is needed under XP or 2000. 95 and 98
allow access, but they make a mess out of the timing of the pulses. DOS
keeps out of the way (for the most part). Why not work in DOS?
I don't recall the initial thread. I think TurboCNC has a printer port
test program associated with it, under DOS, of course.
Art (Mach1) has managed to come up with an excellent controller program
under various windoz systems. He has a driver that works with the
Pentium timer (proper name?). THIS is the driver I'd like to become
familiar with!
