NO.

The power delivered is the key. if your motors are undersized or the
friction is high, your motors will skip steps.

if your resistor is wrong, you will over or under power the motors
and skip steps.

if your ramp speed is too high, you will skip steps.

the 'cry' noise is your skipped steps. the good thing is that all
that gets harmed is your nerves.


Read Mariss's white paper while you are waiting for your replacement
Gecko. That should clear up your confusion.

Then re-read the Gecko conection guide. That too should clear up any
remainning questions.
