wiring Gecko drivers

I am confused about how the motors should be wired. I have Sigma
motors on the Bridgeport with 4 internal windings. I am only wiring
to 2 of the 4 leaving the 2 not connected.
First question is whether it matters which 2 I choose to wire to the
201 Gecko drive. Should they be 2 across from each other or next to
each other.
Second question is since there are 4 terminals on the Gecko drive to
connect to the motors the first two, labelled 3 and 4 recieve wires
from one winding and the other two labelled 5 and 5 receive wires
form the other winding. Is that correct? To change direction just
switch wires between 3 and 4 with just changes the polarity on one
of the internal coils. Correct?
The way the motors are wired now, as done by my hired installer, the
motor windings selected are across from each other, but terminal 3
and 4 are connected to different windings instead of the same.
Seems to be wrong to me. The z axis motor is easy to turn when the
power is off suggesting it is wired correctly but it turns backwards.
I can get all axes to move but only up to 20 inches per minute,
anything greater causes the motors to stall...
Unfortunately Mariss is on vacation...
thanks
