dont do it in this way.
first a vacuum cleaner needs a fan or booster ventilator which can operate
at a suction pressure
of at least minus 5 meter water collumng!
second: you have written correct here your concern about hard metal pieces,
and these will cut holes
in any type of fabric filter. so this high vacuum cleaner must have as a
first stage cutt off cleaner a
cyclone scrubber.
there are a lot of absolutely suitable ones for industrial application on
the market. i do know only
german of coarse, and here is the primus CFG make. they have some
installations with oebb (austrian
federal railway system) and their appartus works perfectly.
