><snip>There is a book out, forget the name, about how to make PCBs using Eagle
4.09r2. Well worth it for the beginner. I use Eagle, but as a bit of a
struggle to get up on the learning curve. It just wasn't my way of
thinking... They also have a very responsive user forum on their web
site. Search it's archives, must newbe questions have been asked before.

it! I imagine it's hard enough to write apps for just one o.s., with
different screen sizes, processor speeds, hardware vendors, etc. I can't
imagine how hard it would be to write platform independent apps. Much less
support them equally well.
Good luck, but most importantly, have fun!
