Well, maybe. I suppose it depends on your CAM program. I have Bobcad,
which I admit is NOT top of the line. For most tasks, it produces the exact
part I want, but may not use the most efficient approach.

I wrote some programs in C that each do one specific task more efficiently.
So, maybe I'm actually agreeing with you. Anyway, these programs are
not graphical, but fill-in-the-blanks. These do things like mill a
round pocket,
mill a rectangular pocket, cut a round or rectangular hole in sheet
material,
thread mill, drill a bolt circle, etc. I just find these things are WAY
faster to
use than creating a drawing and then generating G-code from that. If I
have something that gets to the level of lines tangent to circles, then I
WANT to have a drawing, though.
