Re: age old question

I'm fairly good at scrounging, but when I needed a replacement 40 in-
pound motor for my CNC the best price I found was $800. That was
for a new Baldor motor from the CNC builder. Since then, I found
SEM motors of the same size through Servo Dynamics Company for
around $700.

The surprising thing for me was there just don't seem to be any
sources of low cost larger motors. Even companies selling rebuilt
Baldor's in some cases were asking more than new prices.

Nobody said CNC'in was cheap.
