OK Wally, so based on my motor specs, what should I figure the max
current I need available to be? In your post on power supply design
you assume your motors need 7 amps each.

Here are the motor specs again:

Torque constant: 44oz-in/amp
Voltage constant: 32.5v/1000 rmp
Peak torque: 600 oz-in, or 37.5 in-lb
Nominal voltage: 40vdc
Maximum voltage: 60vdc
Demagnitization current: >20amps
Terminal resistance 2.60 ohm
Max rpm at 50vdc is about 1200 rpm
No-load current <.51 amp
armature inertia .09oz-in-sec^2

I don't think 20amps x3 motors (60 amps!!!) would be the right
answer. Then again, I=60v/2.6 ohms = 23 amps!!, not taking
any emf into account. What should I figure these motors need
to make them happy? A 60 amp power supply would be a monster.
