Actually in the real old days of CNC I was involved in a project where
that option wasn't offered. The operators where forced to do a little
multiplication to get the numbers right on one axis. That is one axis
had a gear reduction beyond what the controller was set up for. But
those where the days when a 600KHz processor was considered fast.
