A minimal linux install can be done on a 1.44M floppy. A small install with
tiny-X will fit in to 30M.
A basic BDI install with EMC will use approx 320M of disk space. Want eye
candy and fancy multiple virtual desktops, plan on using a bit more disk
space.
[CNC content] If you want to build an embedded CNC control using a 256Mb CF
disk, it is possible without losing any functionality - Could even stuff a
web browser in there.

Now, how much does M$ XP use ?
