Re: Brushless Motor Spindle with CNC desktop machine

Many of you are looking at the power figures for these brushless
motors and you must keep in mind that these ratings are with the motor
sitting in a blast of air from the prop. If you plan on using them in
a router/engraver, then a large heatsink and fan must be used to keep
temperatures under control. Also, I would only look at the larger
motors. The small 20mm motors like those on ebay have a tiny bearing
and shaft so you would need to drive a seperate spindle to get any
sort of stiffness and longevity. Check out some of the motors on the
