MDF dust goes EVERYWHERE, par for the course, so I just make sure I put
enough fresh grease on as needed. If this happens too often, maybe I'll have
to look at an alternative lube. Teflon is a dry lube in a spray can, but just
doesn't sound right for ballscrews.
Anyhow... thanks again,

Jim:
In any woodworking environment, dry lube is NEVER a good idea. One of the
reasons plain old oil works on slideways, etc. is that it keeps the dust damp
and not nearly as abrasive as it would be if dry. For starters, the dry lube
will be gone almost immediately because of the dust, it will simply wear it
all away, second, once gone you are dealing with no lube. Best to stick with
grease and oil, it works for multi-million dollar equipment, should be good
for small shops as well.
