Bob,

You said the magic words! Making that motor a servo would be great!
Could it then function as a spindle motor with controllable rpm as
well as a servo motor 4th axis motor?

There is an available encoder for the motor. Yes there is a belt
drive that I need to convert to a cogged timing belt and pulley drive
system so I can customize it to whatever will work. Is the Gecko 340
a servo drive that I would use?
