Yes, that's exactly the way I imagined it. It's just when you said that the
spindle will be rotating relatively slowly, I immediatelly thought of a
4-axis mill without one linear axis - it is essentially the same thing, as
far as I can tell. The actual "spindle" in this case is your router. And I
figured that mach2 can drive a setup like that; the question is how easy
it'd be to generate g-code for it. And I am not sure about the answer to
that question.
