Yes, ask anyone in any computer store ...Best Buy, Circiut City,
whatever you have where you are. It's a very common item these
days.

Another thing to consider ,once you get this fixed, is using
partitions. Had you saved your files on a seperate partition, you'd
be able to reinstall and whatever was on the logical partitions
would still be there.Partition Magic is practically foolproof.

The external H.D. is still the best route.

The linux thing is a "necessity" in an emergency. It's easy to
do also.
