Thanks to everyone!! I may be on the right track
here... with all advice, etc I've got an IDE-USB
adapter coming through eBay (15 bucks vs 45 local) and
I've "borrowed" a copy of 2000 pro from the local "The
Computer Store" service techs (nice to talk to the
ones that work w/ this stuff as the salesmen only
wanted to sell their svcs to recover / repair) (also
to Best Buy "Geek Squad" techs to further explain a
couple things on the phone - also a freebie) to do the
recovery console stuff... right now just trying to
delete the drivers that it doesn't like booting and
hopefully will cure. It's nice to see the willingness
to help on an off-topic problem concerning on-topic
files.

I do have a Ghost 2003 program sitting on the shelf I
probably should've dug into further after I got it
(never took the time to do it or install it... oops
too busy).

Somehow.... I'd like to repay all of you guys.... not
sure how I could but will let you all know when I get
this up and running (confidence is now returning that
I will).
