Very good info, so much for the "simple-off-the-shelf" approach. However,
I might just try hooking in an upstream transformer (to lower the voltage
before it hits the trimmer electronics). I'll post the results if successful.

BTW, the application is foam cutting, so very little torque is required.
Normally, the spindle is going way too fast (for the rapid speed of the CNC),
and the cutters/endmills/burrs are melting the foam.
