electronic half nut feature. A lever connected to the pot at mid
setting keeps the carriage still. Move the lever over 30 degrees in
either direction and the feed begins at a programmed rate. The lever
detents at this position. Move the lever further against a spring
tensioner and the leadscrew (and therefore the stepper motor) increases
linearly in speed to the top programmed slewing speed depending on how
far the lever is moved.
The idea is that without touching buttons, the lever can power feed the
carriage or slew it back to the beginning for that simple manual
operation where setup isn't needed or desired.
I'm waiting for a sample unit that was built and has been shipped to me.
Should arrive any day now.
