Thanks Lee. I remember seeing the kits when I was looking for
some cable to make my phase converter (not an entire success
yet). I also chose George Carlson's version for the auto start
potential relay but balance the phases using info from:

Until I find a 5 hp idler I'm using the setup as a static converter.
The reason that the setup isn't a complete success is that the
start cap will be switched in real nice if the 3-phase switch
between the converter and the motor is on when I switch the converter
on but, if I turn off the motor at the 3-phase switch, the potential
relay stays open. This means that the start cap doesn't kick in
when I switch the motor back on. This would be fine with a rotary
converter since you aren't turning them on and off all the time.
