Yes,
If its a solid state relay, most use an internal led type optocoupler, so your
load can be as easy as testing it with and led with a ~330 ohm resister in
series.
If you can get the LED to light, then solid-stae relay should also activate.
Like Ballendo says wisely, see if the relay has some input current specs.
If you want some spare solid state relays, MECI.com or
"marlin P. Jones" usually"(websearch) usually has good used deals ~$9.00.
Good Luck. ps if you need it, I can whip up a dos parallel port
program for you to manually toggle bits while testing this.
