No, this is not quite true. The 340 can be jumpered like this. The 320
MUST be used with a common +5 V connection, only. So, the common
connection must be connected to a source of +5 V, such as pin 1 of the
game port or a hard drive connector. The parallel port pins are then
required to sink 12-16 mA from the step and dir terminals of the Gecko.
You also have to connect the err/res pin to the encoder + terminal for
about one second to enable the drive.
