I have been hanging on to this message and waiting to repost it until:
1 - I had a chance to get a couple of these and check them out
2 - I was then able to hoard as many as possible
3 - The Dan Mauch / Tom Kulaga DRO boards were ready

I got my board built up last night. It was only as 20 minute or so project.
I got it installed into an old 486 SX25 with 4 mb ram this morning. To night
I was able to hook one of the encoders up to the DRO card.

WOW, I am impressed!!

The card and the program work great, but what amazed me are the encoders.
They work no problem with the DRO if you want to use rotary encoders and
provide 4000 quadrature counts (is that the correct term??) per revolution
so if I set the program for 4000 I get 1" displayed for a full revolution.

The item is part#: G9933 Description: Heavy Duty Motor with Tach Disk Price:
$3.95

Thanks to Andy for turning me on to this great deal on encoders!!
