At my old shop, we had an old Hardinge NC machine with GE550T controls.
One day it just went crazy, running off at rapid till it hit something.

The gentleman that came to fix it told us to take out all the boards (about
100 or so)
spray them with oven cleaner then hose them off. After letting them dry for
a day,
we reinstalled them and the machine ran perfect for another 7 or 8 years.
The only reason it is not being used is because it was too slow (by todays
standards).
It was running fine when we replaced it.

P.S. The boards were all wire wrap terminals.
