Do you remember if the unit used a wire spring or a flat ribbon
spring. Was there a guide to keep the wire spooling with out over
laps or did the tension take care of that.

Also is very thin aircraft cable in the .050 range or the .100 range?

The spring was flat and inside of the spool

in the .050 range

There was no guide system for the wire, but seemed to be quite accurate,
I will try to get a patent number and manufacture number on them
