I haven't had a chance to try it but someone on alt.machines.cnc
suggested cutting something like a rough thread on the diameter
being turned before the normal cutting passes. The idea is that the
sprial groove that's created causes the chip to be broken up into
lenghts which are roughly the circumference of the part.
Sounded like a cool idea to me. Hopefully someday I'll have a CNC
lathe to try it on.
