I get the feeling that someone hasn't been reading quite all the posts, or
at least mine. I've posted about my Sherline mill conversion, the
counterbalance springs, the motor relocation, the building and use of the
controller board, the power supply and PC and software, the lube I'm using
(based on an earlier discussion on the subject), and the first parts I
made. Pictures and drawings of most of this are in the files area.

What I'd personally like to see (I was going to write about this earlier
today but got delayed) and which you as list mom could set up, is a
database in the area on the website where people could enter their name,
email, type/brand of machine tool, motors, driver, power supply, software
and something about the performance they get (max IPM, for instance) That
way there would be an accumulating, archived pool of information about what
people have done and how well it works.

I, for one, would like to know if I can get more than 10 IPM with my
existing hardware (Sherline mill, Sherline motors and mounts, Mauch 2A
board, 24V/8A power supply, counterbalanced head, stock leadscrews and
nuts, Mobil One synthetic grease, all described in earlier posts) by just
switching from the default (since it's free...) DeskNCrt to a different
software.
