I have the exact same hardware running with CNCPro. I was using an
old PC power supply that had somehow degraded to 8.8 VDC. I was
getting 10 ipm with that setup by using the center and one end of
the motor windings. Tieing back the center tap and using the entire
winding, as Dan suggests in his instructions, cuts that in half.
But the holding torque is greater, and I presume running torque
as well.
Just got all fired up at NAMES, so today I wired up a 24 vac xfmr
to the Z axis only. Measured voltage is about 35-36 vdc running.
I only had a 4700mfd 35wv cap, so used it. Too low I think for real.
The Z runs smooth UP and down at 45 ipm, stalls going UP at 50.
This is with the half winding connection. Haven't tried anything
else yet, just a quick check.
Oh, my mill is stock, don't have your mods, otherwise same hardware.
