Yes, I've seen that technique before. I had one tech who changed the
same SCSI drive 4 times before he figured "gee, maybe its the controller".
Usually, one repitition is enough. I think alot of these stories get started
because someone like my wife ( who has trouble identifying a screwdriver
from a wrench) dissassembles something, then claims it can't be done when
they fail. All who believe her, will never try the operation.
Sometimes, the question is not, am I a cynic, its am I cynical enough.
