Just because the INPUT is 10-30 V, the output may be 5 V, or open
collector. If open collector, then you need to provide your own pull-up
resistors to +5 V. If the output is actually pulling up to the input voltage,
you can use a series resistor and a diode with the cathode connected
to +5 V, limiting the output to 5.6 V, which should not cause any problems.
