Weland,

First thing is, single click only. Double click is not
required. Kind of hard to get used to after using
Winders. Problem with clicking on the icons is
there is no messages shown so do the following
and report back with any messages

First click on the terminal window on the toolbar
at the bottom of the screen (looks like 2 computers)
This will bring up a terminal screen (like a dos window).
change to the emc directory. Note the direction of the
slashes. Obviously, don't enter the quotes

"cd /usr/local/emc"

start emc with the following command

"./emc.run" (look close - dot slash emc dot run)

report back with any messages shown
