stepper wiring

Hello, another newbie question:
considering a redesign of my router in progess, was wondering how to wire
two stepper motors (6 wire) to one controller. I have the hobbycnc
controller, and want to get an additional y-axis motor (it would make
designing soooo much easier). to keep the voltage the same, i would need to
wire them in series, yes? is that possible? the hobbycnc controller should
be able to take the amperage, it seems to be the same controller for 150
oz/in motors (from looking at the web site)
