Hi Bill,

True, they could be connected in series, but they better be the same
value and working voltage. We used to do that for Ham radio transmitter
supplies. Trouble with connecting them in series, the capacitance is
halved! So, it would take 4 caps in series parallel to get the
capacitance back up!
