Well, us making a machine that will cut the rings is time comsuming, but it is half the fun:) Also there is no way I could afford spoos of wire in 316l SS in that diamiter and afford it. I will do as Jeff suggested and check into places that make springs. If they can cut off the rings that way, there should be no reason my dad can't make it for me on a smaller scale.

Does that "C" ring machine adjustable for diffrent guage wires? I'll going to hunt for some pics of one. Are there anyother names that it might be called. or do you recall the company that made it?

By the way. I'm not going for authentic chainmail. If I were I would be using just plain steel wire:) and I would take my mandrel and beat and bang on it so I wouldn't get uniform rings. But the people I sale my stuff to arn't looking for authenticity. They are looking for pretty.

If anyone is interested...when I get back to Louisiana with my new digital camera I'm getting for x-mass:) I could upload pics of the two machines we have made so far, and/or more mail pieces. those are very eary work when I was just starting.
