Hi,
So as to not clog the list with numerous replies, I am replying to
several people at a time, referenced by message #. I hope this
experiment doesn't offend anyone.
Mariss
(38476) methadras,
I'm going with a "Barbie Doll" approach here. The more cards you put
in it, the more it will cost. This way it can be tailored to only
what you need it to do.
Circuit diagrams will be available, gerber files will not be.
The "software" will be in assembly language for the embedded 8-bit
microcomputer. It will handle motion routines and simple I/O on
orders from a PC over a serial interface. It has nothing to do with
DOS or WinXX.
Good idea; backlash compensation is now added to the list.
(38477) Roger, (38475) Rab,
No problem hardware-wise. It will depend on how "tight" I can write
the assembly language interrupt service routine that manages the
pulse generator axis cards. The black box may have to be addressable
so multiple "boxes" can be used.
I'll change the slots from 4 to 6. Can't hurt. Can you send me some
info on a hexapod and what it does off-list?
(38478) Drew,
(1) A maybe on the quadrature inputs. Perhaps a pair of hardware
quadrature decoders feeding a pair of 4-bit U/D counters whose
outputs are readable. The counters would store counts between the 1
kHz update intervals. I'll add it to the hardware list.
(2) This may be possible depending on how "tight" I can write the
assembly language interrupt service routine that manages the pulse
generator axis cards.
(38479) Andy,
They will work with any STEP and DIRECTION drive. Camtronics, IMS,
PacSci, Compumotor, and yes, even Geckodrives.
