Using PC power supplies

ballendo,

as another sideline hobby, i built high-end custom pc's for friends
and sometimes as a minor money making venture... i use only 450 watt
and 650 watt powersupplies... sometimes depending on the application,
eg. watercooling, lights, extra fans, etc. etc. i need to daisy chain
supplies, so power is never a problem... besides, i have loads and
loads of these supplies lying around, so i never really thought about
using them for my CNC apps...

but in reference to the black box that marris is making, if he
allowed for an AT or an ATX powersupply to be connected to the black
box, then anyone almost anywhere can just pull a pc supply that is
either unused or buy on the cheap and drive power to the black box
and/or the motors...
