Re: rotary hand encoder wheels with detent

Well, the group went off in some strange direction on this one
like "can we make a jog wheel from '72 Chevy Corvette transmission?"
Two points...
Real controllers *have* detented jog wheels. If you are replaceing
the conrol, the new software and I/O should be able to use the old
wheel from the control you are replacing.
In the case of controls that didn't have a jog wheel, or people who
are building machines from scratch, they should either obtain a jog
wheel, or use something like this....

Retrofit control software should allow for either, or both options.
