I have used them on my servo-equipped CNC machine, they work very
well.

If your power supply is isolated, grounding the motor may not be necessary.
Unless the motor is mounted on plastic spacers or something, the machine
itself may offer adequate grounding. If you have a high noise environment,
or will be using the machine as an X-Y positioner for EDM, you may want to
isolate the motors, encoders, etc. and ground them back at the CNC control.
Make sure the machine frame is grounded, especially if the spindle is run
from the mains power or through a VFD.
